Hi group,

I have a new Desert Dagger, purchased from A.G. Russell. Yeah they
don't have the best prices, but considering they've been sending me
catalogs for the past 14 years I figured it wouldn't kill me to spend
the extra $20. ;-) (The last thing I bought from them was a Blackjack
folder, I think the Black Mamba?)

Anyway. The sheath that came with the Desert Dagger is simply
dreadful. The blade won't seat all the way in and it's a rattly turd.
Are there any decent concealment carry universal sheaths available that
would be a nice fit for this knife? I Googled it but the only thing I
managed to find were those "survival" sheaths with a built-in holder
for your tacticool throwing knives.

TIA!

It may be worth looking at http://www.survivalsheath.com/sheaths/index.htm

I've never used their products but they have received good reviews on the
various fora. I'm pretty sure they take on custom work as well, although the
SOG DD is listed as one of their standard knives. Despite the name these
aren't 'tacticool' toys, but apparently good quality, no-nonsense pieces of
kit.

Thanks for the reply Odd Bob. I've come to the conclusion that the
Desert Dagger is some $50 cheaper than the Cold Steel Tai Pan because
of the savings on the sheath!

I checked out your link. Thanks for the heads-up. After much debate I
ended up ordering a custom leather sheath from Vess Leatherworks.
Around $60 and the head honcho there is a real pleasure to deal with.
If the DD sheath looks good I'll hire him to make up a custom one to
hold my CRKT M16-14 and Surefire E2e in a wallet-type package (no belt
loops).

LOL - could well be!

The sheath for the E2E sounds good. I've been looking for a solution for my
E2D but have yet to see anything which will be concealable and easily
accessible.
