******* Here are the last reviews for that awful dump in Chiang Mai
courtesy of Tripadvisor.com.
Date of review: Mar 2, 2011
I went there before reading the reviews. Everyone is right on about
the Israeli manager. She’s unbelievably ignorant to the Thais who work
there. The pita bread & tahini sauces are good, but the falafel is
just ok. The restaurant is usually overcrowded & cluttered. Try
Falafel King instead.

Date of review: Feb 13, 2011
I have never seen somebody been so rude to their workers. The lady-
owner does not have a right to live in Chiang Mai, if she has such low
respect for people. She thinks because she is the boss, she can boss
people around! She shouted at her Thai waitress, like she committed
the worst crime ever, while they she just dropped a glass. The
waitress was so ashamed, I felt so bad for the girl.

Overpriced food and very uncomfortable atmosphere!

So kind of you larb guy to remind me - but am glad to say, I dont need
that reassurance as I am pretty resourcful at finding my own way
around the internet ,but thanks anyway. What does interest me though,
is that what make you think your reference is any less more authentic
than mine/reviews I link to ? I am a keen student of philosophies/
psychology and I just wonder which theory could back this statement
up. Is it, mine is better than yours, and what is the deeper meaning
to ,as you say, 'real people have to say about it'? Hmmm, you know, I
thought the link I provided which put rubbish on the Falafel King were
also real people too no?

Anyways, I am not here to argue the point so much, but would ask that
people make up their own mind given the opportunity. I beleive both
kop and rigger are travellnig to Chiang Mai province in coming times.
But , can we believe either of these people/ internet persona to relay
a true account of what they find their. Sometime bias does come into
it you know, especially those with an axe to grind ok.

Signing off, 'sometime the pen is mightyier then the sword' unquote.

Although I own several axes I'm sure none need grinding. Now if
one of these bright posters will only get their "thumb off the dime"
(which means "don't be so cheap) and help facilitate my trip, I
promise to not only be personally fair in both restaurant reviews,
but also to provide videos of each establishment and interviews
with patrons. I can't be any fairer than that. As a bonus I would
video a number of other locations for the Jesters scrap book.

Come on Triksy Jokers, I need a change of pace and Chaing
Mai seems like the perfect place.

No answer???? OK, so let's say I sweeten the deal and
offer to include interviews with "a maximum" of 25 with
various suppliers and, should any be present, special
interviews with the Troll Troup (including the first 3
rounds).
If you good buddies are busted I'll try something else;
maybe Nurko will tell me some secrets.

dennis if I may suggest ,when you are in Chiang Mai and have had
enough of eating rice and noodles, why not do yourselves a favor and
head on over to Jerusalem Falafel for something out of the ordinary in
Thailand. You will feel like you are in Israel and not the far
east,,,,so trippy.

When inside, look out for my aunty Zahavit - as added bonus tell her
your friend Benn (she know who that is) send you/reccomend and I can
almost guarantee you wont even have to pay for that meal! How good!?
Ok it might not save you heaps, but better a free lunch than none at
all no?

Signing off: Who say there is no longer such things as a free lunch

So Benn, tell me, do you happen to have any relatives owning
knife shops?

And where did our merry pranksters run off to? They must hang
together because they always seem to come and go "en mass"
wouldn't you say? Just when things are about to get interesting
too. Getting on the "good" side of these guys is tough; they seem
very suspicous for some reason.

Rigger (dennis) i duno what to say to your question about our dearest
friends but I think they would make interest case studies for those
who are skilled in these areas. I am a student of philosophies and
different psych theories but i am by no mean very skillful in this
area. As much as i would like to be that is. I do know what you mean
however. I have tried to make friend with some of the other peopel on
this NG but from day one I have found they are only interest in
playing games and insults. I would like to get to the bottom of this
as ,you know, deep down I dont think they mean too much harm. I guess
the internet is a good way for some people to relive their boredom
maybe. And while this fun is sometime as others expense, I dont think
this behavior is meant to cause hurt ,just a bit of fun and game.
Well ,I like to give others in life the benefit of the doubt so in
this case I will do the same.

I dunno why they only seem to come in groups as you mention, maybe
this is all the same person pretending to post as differnet people, I
dunno. In psychology, this can be a personality disorder for those who
have more than one personalities. Im not sure of the exact term,
schizophrenia possibly or something else? Im not saying these people
are mentally unstable, and hopefully it is all just part of their
onlnie personalities. Who know, maybe in real life larb gai, fred, kop
etc are Doctors or teachers or some other very respectful
professions?! Probably not, but as I say, who are we to cast doubt on
someone we have never met before right ?

Signing off: Somethings to think about for the day.

Dennis ,further to your questioning. I dont have any personal
connectinos to any knife shops in Chaing mai. I am familiar though
with many of the military stores there who store a very big range of
weapons, including lotsa different knives. It is so cool to walk into
these stores and find whats avaialble. I am sure very different to the
States because in Thailand, if you like the look of a particular
weapon, not much stopping you from buying and taking it home. Be
careful though when gonig through the airport security as surely the
customs in the US take a bad look at passengers trying to get knives
through. Best declare it to them and hope they allow. You will find
these weapons stors easily in CM, just ask tuk tuk to take and there
are many around the old city. I can hook you up with one of my buddies
if you like there and he can show you some stores and may be get
discount for you as he nkows the owners.

Also, if in Bangkok, you must go to Jatujak market on the weekends, so
many cool things to buy there, including many knives and other
weapons. You will surely have a lotta fun just walking around and
seeing all the things available!

Signing off: what a weird and wonderful world we live in.
